As the VP of Engineering at Roche Diagnostics, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of our core engineering initiatives, driving innovation and technical excellence across our product portfolio. This executive role demands a visionary leader capable of fostering a high-performance engineering culture, championing best practices, and delivering robust, scalable, and secure diagnostic solutions that make a tangible difference in patient lives globally. You will be responsible for scaling our engineering capabilities, managing complex technical roadmaps, and collaborating closely with product management, R&D, and commercial teams to bring groundbreaking solutions to market.

• Define and execute the overall engineering strategy and technical roadmap aligned with business objectives and market needs.
• Lead, mentor, and expand a diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering organization, promoting professional growth and technical leadership.
• Drive innovation in software architecture, development processes, and technology adoption to maintain a competitive edge.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable software products and platforms that meet stringent regulatory standards.
• Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines effectively to achieve strategic goals and operational excellence.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
• Collaborate with senior leadership across various functions to translate business requirements into compelling technical strategies and solutions.
• Represent the engineering organization externally and internally, building strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the broader tech community.
• Oversee the implementation of industry best practices for software development lifecycle, quality assurance, and DevOps.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proven executive leadership in managing large-scale engineering organizations (10+ years), preferably within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe).
• Strong understanding of regulated environments (e.g., FDA, CE-IVD, IVDR) and quality management systems relevant to medical devices or diagnostics.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent and build high-performing teams.
• Extensive experience in driving digital transformation initiatives, product innovation, and market entry strategies.
• Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and compliance requirements.
