Are you a highly motivated individual with a passion for events and a fluent command of English? Mercure Hotel Hagen is seeking an enthusiastic Event Management Intern to join our vibrant team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning, executing, and evaluating a diverse range of events within a professional hotel environment. You will work closely with our experienced event managers, supporting them in all phases of event lifecycle, from initial client communication to post-event analysis. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and contribute to memorable event experiences for our guests.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

  • Assist Event Managers with event planning, coordination, and execution for various events (e.g., conferences, weddings, corporate functions).
  • Support in client communication, including responding to inquiries, preparing proposals, and managing bookings.
  • Help with logistics planning, including venue setup, catering arrangements, audio-visual requirements, and vendor coordination.
  • Prepare event documentation, such as contracts, invoices, and detailed event schedules.
  • On-site support during events, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any immediate needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify new event trends, potential clients, and competitive offerings.
  • Contribute to post-event activities, including feedback collection, report generation, and database updates.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure all event-related information is accurately documented.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for the hospitality and event management industry.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Tourism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous volunteer or paid experience in event support, customer service, or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of German language is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with event management software or CRM systems.
