We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hybrid UAV/Drone Systems Engineer to join our innovative team in Munich. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and integration of complex hybrid unmanned aerial vehicle systems. You will work across the entire product lifecycle, from concept definition and requirements capture through to detailed design, testing, and deployment. Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Lead the system architecture definition and design for hybrid UAV/drone platforms, integrating electrical, mechanical, software, and propulsion systems.
• Develop and manage system requirements, ensuring traceability and verification throughout the product lifecycle.
• Perform trade studies and analyses to optimize system performance, weight, power, and cost for hybrid configurations.
• Design and implement control algorithms and flight management systems for autonomous and remotely piloted operations.
• Conduct system-level integration, testing, and validation of hardware and software components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, and software engineers.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze flight test data, and troubleshoot system anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and quality management processes.
• Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and project presentations.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in UAV/drone systems engineering, aerospace, or a related high-tech industry.
• Proven experience with hybrid propulsion systems (e.g., electric/internal combustion, battery/fuel cell) or multi-modal UAV operation.
• Strong understanding of aircraft flight mechanics, control systems, and aerodynamics.
• Proficiency in system design and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS, Enterprise Architect).
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
• Familiarity with relevant communication protocols and sensor integration (e.g., GPS, IMU, LiDAR).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
• Knowledge of aviation certification processes (e.g., EASA, FAA) for UAS.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for autonomous systems.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
• Experience with embedded systems development and programming languages (e.g., C++, Python).
• Pilot's license or drone operator certification.
