We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated English Speaking Automotive Powertrain Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stuttgart. This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of powertrain systems, their development, and integration into modern vehicles. You will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and optimization of cutting-edge powertrain technologies, contributing to the next generation of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a solid engineering background, excellent communication skills in English, and a passion for automotive innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality powertrain solutions.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design, develop, and test powertrain components and systems for conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
• Conduct simulations and analyses (e.g., CFD, FEA) to optimize powertrain performance, efficiency, and durability.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on component specifications, integration, and validation.
• Analyze test data, identify root causes of issues, and propose effective engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to powertrain systems.
• Participate in vehicle prototyping and testing phases to ensure robust system performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the powertrain engineering department.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in powertrain system design and development (ICE, Hybrid, EV).
• Strong knowledge of automotive engineering principles and vehicle architectures.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Familiarity with powertrain control units (ECU) and calibration processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for technical communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multinational team environment.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with German automotive industry standards and processes.
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity aspects in automotive.
• Familiarity with powertrain testing methodologies and data acquisition systems.
• Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher).
